The CIG would like you to leave a comment or an opinion. This is how we know the way the community feels about the issues. You may leave one about any story on the site, any document in the repository or just one in general on what you think about remediation

Please click on the Read Full Article" link below to read how.
There are two ways to leave a comment:
1. One is after a story that is related to the story or news item.
2. The other is as a general comment in the "Share an Opinion" section.

When reading a story from the home page of the site, there is a "Read Full Article" link which will allow you to see the rest of the story. At the bottom of the full article is a "Post a Comment" button. Clicking on that button will open a box where a comment can be entered.

The generic "Share an Opinion" on the Main Menu of the home page does not relate to stories. It is a place to leave general comments or opinions about the site, its documents, the CIG, Middleport or the remediation projects. When you click on "Share an Opinion", a page will come up with titles to past comments which have been left by others. You can click on one of those to read then add to the conversation or start a new topic by clicking on "Share an Opinion" just above the list. This will open a page with a place to enter your comment or opinion. You are asked to enter your name and E-Mail address. Nick names are allowed but we do encourage you to enter the real information. Click Preview to make sure it looks OK, then "Yes" it does to submit.

Anyone can leave a comment after a story or in the general section. Comments in both places are posted in order of their submittals. We ask that you not be abusive or prejudicial.

We also encourage you to sign up as a registered user and to participate in the polls. The most current is on the right side of the home page. There are other active polls which are available to you by clicking on the Polls link at the bottom of the current poll.

As of September 1, 2008, you must be a registered user and logged in to the web site to leave a comment. Click on EZ Sign Up [4] to send the CIG registration information.

Or to register send your name, address and what you would like to use as a log in name to feedback@middleport-future.com. The log in name is what will be displayed and it can be any name or set of letters/numbers you like. All information will be kept confidential.

If you would prefer not to register, you can send a comment to us by E-mailing to feedback@middleport-future.com or by sending a letter to PO Box 33 Middleport, NY 14105.

Residents of Middleport need to take advantage of these opportunities to educate themselves and take part in the discussions. This website affords a real opportunity "to be heard." One may be cynical and say, "Well, it does not matter. Government officials really are not listening." We will never know that for sure if people do not read, listen, discuss, educate themselves, and ask questions. Many positive things have occurred such as the creation of the CIG group, this website, and the proposed CMS by FMC. There are many challenges ahead. At this particular time, it is very important that residents in the Air Deposition Area start reading documents on this website and join us at the CIG meetings. Open minds and positive attitudes can lead to many good things.
